Previously, in Ten Women in Ten Minutes, I provided a list of women I currently find aesthetically amazing. Today I present ten nationally known women I grew up adoring from afar. I chose the image you see below that best match my memory of the crush. I realize there isn’t much racial or ethnic diversity here, but television and the movies were not terribly integrated in the 1970’s and 80’s. Let’s make it perfectly clear these fine women were not masturbation fodder because that is an entirely different list!

I wanted to marry each of the women at one time in my life and then
spend the rest of my life with them in wedded bliss as we raised our
children together. Remember, the secret to the attraction is the
glistening life in the eyes:

  1. WOW! I really like the preponderance of brunettes in your Top 10 and I can certainly agree with every one of your choices. I would have a very hard time narrowing mine down to 10 and I am fairly certain that I would replace Rosanna Arquette with Dawn Wells from Gilligan’s Island. That might be showing my age though.

  2. You’re talking about Jaclyn Smith. Lots of guys liked her. The women I grew up with who watched “Charlie’s Angels” when it was on television seemed to prefer Jaclyn over Kate and Farrah.
I found Jaclyn Smith to be too perfect, too pretty and too prissy for my taste.

  3. I remember having a Farah Fawcett-Majors poster on my wall when I was young.
Every woman on your list is a fine choice. But, I do have to agree that there is something extra special about Jaclyn Smith.
Kate Jackson seemed too much like the woman next door (or even worse, your best friend’s mom), but Jaclyn gave off a certain vibe that was intriguing to a young man growing up. Maybe it was the way she spelled her name that was the special extra?

  4. Hi Chris!
I had that same Farrah poster! She was magnificent in her time. She always had a refreshing earthy goodness that was incredibly attractive.
Jaclyn is a beautiful woman, no doubt. She has class, but she feels sexless to me and reminds me more of my mother’s friends than Kate Jackson. Kate, especially in “The Rookies” had such a larger and thicker sexuality that other female stars of her time and it always shone through the tube and her unique voice was endearing as well.
One woman I had a hard time dropping from the list was Jane Seymour. I kept Rosanna instead because she had a more accessible personality. Jane was a little cool back then.

  5. OSINACHI!
You have returned to us! Welcome back!
I suppose loving “pretty and sexy young women” is better than lusting after their opposite!
    😀
You can decide for yourself if my childhood crushes translated into reality by visiting http://davidboles.com and looking at the three images of my wife at the top of that page. You can also click around http://hardcoreasl.com to see video of her in action.

  6. Ironically, David, on this list we agree 90%. I feel synergy approaching!
I was never a Farrah fan. Among the Angels, Kate Jackson and that husky voice did it for me.
Phoebe Cates may well have been the most beautiful woman in the world for about five minutes. Kevin Kline either is one lucky man, or sold his soul to the devil.

  7. SwanShadow —
I agree Farrah was overblown, but back then her Texas charm was really unique to a young Nebraska lad stuck in the middle of nowhere.
I am with you on Phoebe. I agree with you on the Kline sale! It was the only way!

  8. Dave —
Ew! I never want to have any of those conversations with a young woman! It creeps me out that I would be creeping her out only because of my age!
I think there’s no way cutting around the fact that it’s an insult to remind a young woman of her father because she would never openly want to have a sexual relationship with her own father.

  9. Dave, Your comment made me think of something.
Why is it that all the “killer hot” women never have cars, jobs, or a steady boyfriend? Does a working life reduce a woman’s hotness somehow? Is the wildness that makes them so hot and so unemployable?

  10. Hey Chris!
I think the “killer hot” women don’t have to work or own anything because, up to a certain point in their lives anyway, they have men fawning all around them that they then can control for transportation and money and good living.
I discovered the 32 year-old woman I knew 20 years ago was recently employed as an elementary school teacher’s aid. She had gained a lot of weight and was now completely grey. It was a shock to learn about her current life and looks based on the power of memory of youthful indiscretions.

  11. AHHHH FARRAH!! SERIOUSLY HOW MANY CRUSH LISTS DO YOU THINK SHE’S ON, 100’S? 1000’s? MILLIONS? SHE WAS THE EPITOME OF WHAT ADOLESENT ADULATIION WAS ALL ABOUT, SO YOU CAN ADD WHOEVER ELSE FLOATS YOUR BOAT BUT FARRAH IS THE ONE CONSISTENT IN ALMOST EVERY YOUNG MAN’S, OF A CERTAIN AGE ,LIST.

  12. Hi coolhandrob —
Yes, you’re right Farrah is exceptional and she appears on many ordinary similar lists.
I thought of leaving her off my list — she wastes a space because she is expected to fill a line — but then I thought I had to include her or I’d be rightly accused of skewing my list in an inauthentic direction.
