by On Tuesday, the Osbournes returned to television on Fox in “Osbournes Reloaded” — and while it wasn’t quite suicide television — it was awful enough in its entirety that we wish they’d stayed retired.
The Osbournes — as a new variety show — had no spark. The humor and setups were limp and unconvincing.
The premier show revolved around a fakey marriage
proposal and acceptance involving an audience member that stank of a set up from the start.
You can’t be cutting edge when your ideas are dull and The Osbournes now downwardly define dullardry and their overuse of the f-bomb is now tired and wankerish.
Oh, Ozzy, how far you’ve fallen as the Prince
of Darkness to become a frightened child in the floodlights.
The only reasons the Osbournes would be involved in such a mockery of who and what they used to be are the want for more money and fame — neither of which can help make their show into something watchable.
I’m not the only one tired of this tiresome brood:
At least 16 Fox TV stations refused to air the Osbourne family’s “variety” special last night after seeing the promos for the program and looking at the six-minute “sizzle reel” that the network sent their way.
An additional 10 Fox stations virtually killed “Osbournes: Reloaded” by moving it out of prime time and into the wee hours of the morning — as late as 1:35 a.m. today — all but guaranteeing that the special would take a ratings hit. All told, it appears the show either will not air at all or be buried in late night in about 11 percent of the country.
Ozzy — do your family a favor and bite the bat and do the right thing for once: Euthanize the show while you still can. Beat the devil to the guillotine and do the job yourself.
In the bloody end, you will resurrect some of the dignity you sold and earn back a bit of the faith and goodwill so many of us spent tuning you in on Tuesday — only to be left emotionally and morally bankrupt by an entertainment Ponzi scheme that rivaled the Madoff rip-off.
How terribly sad for television that this is the kind of desperate stuff with which they are presenting us now.
The Osbournes used to be cool, Gordon. Now they’re tacky and tired. The cursing needs to stop. It’s so overdone and childish now.
The Osbournes are a wretched group now and the show has confirmed this! Ozzy’s history of drug abuse has long since affected his mind but has been unable to stop his profane tongue!
Their brutish mannerism lacks the necessary appeal to inspire the public to leap on board with them. I agree, the profanity is just too excessive and in “bad taste”.
They are not what I would consider a “role model” family. Hopefully the ratings will in effect cause the show to be cancelled for good!
This would be a small “victory” in the world of television. But it would be a “victory” none the less!

Ozzy was the least offensive on the show — along with, believe it or not, his wife, Sharon.
The biggest jerk and potty mouth was daughter Kelly. She is stunningly crass and rude. She has made no upward movement in maturity or kindness since we met her on TV as a precocious teen.
Son Jack was sort of aware of the awfulness of it all and pretty much tried to remain invisible.
The Osbournes used to be charmingly crude as the reincarnation of The Beverly Hillbillies — but with this new show, we begin to realize their entire family might just be a bunch of convenient associations instead of warm commitments.
Yes, I remember better days for the Osbournes but must respectfully admit that I was not really a big fan of theirs even then. My brothers were HUGE fans and I had to just endure the noise … smiling.
No surprise that Kelly behaved badly! I only observed a small portion of the show before changing the channel. I didn’t want my kids to witness the language content. Kelly just substantiates the ongoing issues with todays younger generation. Even the famous can’t escape the degradation in respect and morality. No high and lofty place for them to hide from that reality.
I will say that, Sharon fits on “American’s got Talent”. Her saucy temperament gives depth and character to the show.

What I found important and groundbreaking about the original Osbournes show was how openly they dealt with Ozzy’s drug days and the unfathomable current aftereffects on this family as he took a whole new set of drugs to try to bring him into “normal.”
His wild days were then revisited upon his children and both Sharon and Ozzy tried to control the bad habits they bred in their children, but they could not stem the wide tide of a wilding malfeasance surrounding their unbridled offspring.
Watching the demons come home to roost in the Osbourne home — in the form of their spoiled and prattling children — was a fascination like no other, and one began to heed Ozzy’s constant urging against doing drugs and the dangers of over-drinking alcohol.
