In 1915 Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote:

Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself; but talent instantly recognizes genius.

Today, in 2005, mediocrity still belittles us all. The world of people are mostly mediocre. The problem is those who are mediocre have no idea of their status: Mediocrity only recognizes mediocrity.

Life is tough for those who are exceptional in a mediocre universe.

You must not let the middlebrow pull you down. You accomplish that by ignoring the Mediocre Mindset and continuing on your own path even if it means you are misunderstood or wrongfully punished.

The price of your Genius or SuperGenius is dealing with those who are genetically unable to understand you.

You must always remember that is not their fault it is only their condition. Find solace in the friendship of others like you.

SuperGenius recognizes all function levels and you must accept those who cannot comprehend you on the level of their vision or you risk losing your own perception.

  1. I love what you wrote and can truly relate. I feel out of sync with most people and yet I am a warm and friendly people person and make friends very easily. I’m actually a compassionate person and get along with nearly anyone… And, yet I mostly choose to spend my time alone and have just recently learned at 39 to except the fact that I am my own best friend.
