This incredible image is allegedly Sarah Palin’s 2008 Christmas card.  I say “allegedly” because I am hoping against all reason Sarah Palin did not put her “son” Trig — an 8.5 month-old Down Syndrome baby — in a box eating a bow just to create a “cute” Christmas card.

The Palins have a strange hunger to exploit their children for public gain and that immediately raises the matter of, and the definition of, “parenthood” in both deed and duty.

We witnessed the never-ending parade of their kids all summer long, and one could not help but feel there was always an irrational disconnect between the Palins and their young children in the presentation.

Bristol Palin, unwed at age 18, gave birth to “Tripp” over the weekend.  The story was exclusively sold to People Magazine.

Watching the Palins in the public square is a disarming and uncomfortable experience because the record seems to prove they are not careful parents when it comes to the formal education of, the naming of — and even the moral edification of — their children:  An unwed mother, two high school dropouts and a mother who took five years to earn a four year degree is the Palin’s public pedigree, and it is shameful and indefensible.

The Palin children appear to be strangely feral, disconnected, unsupervised and unwise and we can only be grateful the Palin parenting style was unable to gain a foothold in the elected consciousness of good Americans everywhere.

I don’t think we’ve seen the lowness of them yet, Gordon! They have a long way to go. It’s all so sad and their story seems to be one of repressing their children to do their bidding instead of lifting them up and giving them the best and brightest of the world.

    Uh-Oh!
    More trouble in Palin country?

A People magazine executive is slamming media speculation that Bristol Palin made at least $300,000 for giving the publication first shot at photos of her newborn son.
The reports come a day after the magazine broke the news that the 18-year-old unmarried daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin gave birth to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Saturday.

Right, Katha, and you’re being kind in using “thick-headed” to explain the insanity of that family.

Amazing, Nicola! The Cameron image is fascinating. I wonder why these politicos feel the need to involve their families in affairs of the state? Why do we care who is at home behind the curtain?
