Not Everything Should Go

We are often confronted with the mandate of youth, and the conundrum of wisdom in the matter of — “Everything Goes!” — and I stand here to humbly submit that not everything must go. Sometimes, we need prescience and determination to realize the lack of self-restraint and that an untrained, unsavory, following can become profound enough to dangerously dismiss the best of us.

Michael Jackson Steals from Bob Fosse

Despite the best efforts at YouTube take down notices, we all know Beyonce grave robbed Bob Fosse, because We Who Know, saw the video evidence with our own eyes before it was removed.  Beyonce even, eventually, gave Bob Fosse credit for her choreography theft.  This morning, I was delighted to receive an email from Alisa, asking if I knew Michael Jackson had also stolen Bob Fosse’s choreography.

Beyonce Grave Robs Bob Fosse

We have been big Beyonce fans — but there’s a storm brewing in Beyonceland as it becomes clear she lifted the choreography for her “Single Ladies” video from a Bob Fosse dance number called “Mexican Breakfast” starring Gwen Verdon and performed live in June, 1969 on the Ed Sullivan Show.  The original “Mexican Breakfast” in it’s fully glory — has been removed from YouTube where the audio was removed for Copyright reasons, you were still able tol see the dance in full.
