Text messaging has really gotten completely out of hand. It is now quite commonplace to see people reading and responding to text messages in the most unusual circumstances and unacceptable manners. Rather than taking the time to talk with the people with whom they actually are physically, they continue to stay glued to their phones. The worst example of this happened recently when my wife, baby, and I were visiting Disneyland.

When I was probably eight-years-old or so, my family travelled from Nebraska to California to visit Disneyland for the first time.  We were in the Golden State to visit my aunt, uncle and two female cousins and, of course, to also inhale the acreages of Disney and score some fun rides.

Four Days in Disneyland

For my twenty-eighth birthday (celebrated just yesterday), my girlfriend’s parents presented us with a dream vacation to magical Disneyland. Her parents knew how much I wanted to go there for the 50th anniversary (celebration started in May of this year) and so they thoughtfully put us there. Though all did not go as planned and there were some mishaps, it was for the most part just as exciting as we hoped it would be.
