Can you sum up your life in three words?
Freud was a fan of the power of three.
Here’s my try: Lonesome, yearning, sharing.
What are your three words and why did you choose them?

okay I’ll try. Repressed, educated, dying.
That’s so pathetic!
That’s touching, Anne! Not pathetic at all! Why did you feel repressed?
Deaf. Iowa. New York.
Those were good links in your article. I forgot some of those stories.
repressed because I was treated more like a boy growing up on the farm. School was freeing.

Love the progression, thanks!
Our gifts and our spaces define us.
Oh, yes, Janna. That was fun to reflect on the words and then associate their meaning here against previous articles.
I know exactly what you mean, Anne. You were lucky you were able to get off the farm and find your own life of the mind.
my attempt before heading off to portland for a short vacation :
Jewish, writer, helpful ๐
I see a couple of my sites need updates!
Hi Gordon!
Wow! Have fun in Portland! How long will you be away?
I love your three words. The links are divine. Yes, you need updating! ๐
I am coming back on Sunday. I’m working with an artist to come up with a new feature for Ask Vampire Bear and people just stopped asking questions which led to less content. If only there were a way to get people to ask him more questions. My biography can wait until I’m back in NY. ๐
Mr. Gordon!
What sort of new feature? A new blog design or a logo or what what what? โ
How soon are you sighting a return to NY and where do you plan to live?
The new feature is going to be a weekly lesson – it will involve a downloadable pdf and a video that will help teach that pdf to you. In time you will be able to have an entire book – or order a ‘professional’ copy, of course. I will keep the topic of the weekly lesson until we’re ready to launch. ๐
G-d willing I’m going to be back in NY by the end of August – and I’m going to be living on the Upper West Side. I’ll be able to take you out one night to see Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater. ๐
That sounds like a fascinating thing you’re doing with VB, Gordon. Good luck with it!
You already have a place picked out in NYC? Upper West Side is a primo place. I prefer the Lower East Side just because it’s a little more gritty, but you’ll have a delightful time there.
I was partially inspired by the awesome ASL book you and Janna wrote.
For awhile I’m hopefully staying with a friend of mine. The kick of the UWS is that it has everything a Jew like me needs – kosher restaurants, a large choice of places to get my prayer on, and a supportive community. ๐
(No comment on my UCBT offer? Almost all of their shows are still five bucks!)
You’ll have to be more detailed about your inspiration, Gordon!
I know a lot of Jews who live up thar’, Gordon! It is a wonderful spot filled with families and fine company.
I’m not big on cursing — visit the UCBT you link and you’ll see they’re big potty mouths!
All I can say for now is the inspiration came from the genius combination of video, images, and text. ๐
There are some shows you can see at UCBT where the cursing is limited or not at all – it’s all down to the performers. I am actually thinking of signing up for a few improv classes. When I perform at the end of the semester, so to speak, you can be guaranteed no potty mouth from me! ๐
Hmm. That’s an intriguing idea, Gordon. You’ll have to spill the beans sooner or later!
That sounds like a fun plan, Gordon. You could video your rehearsals and then sell a CD of your genius!
David:
Live, Love, Lonely
What a beautiful description, Hanie! The three “L”s are the wonder of you. ๐
Yea, but need to kick out the “lonely” bit, soon! ๐ Thought provoking post, David.
Hi Hanie!
I don’t think lonely is a bad thing. I think it tempers expectation and teaches patience. I know a lot of folks who are terribly lonely even in the company of others.
Live, laugh, learn.
You need to be a bit on the happy side to really learn new things about life.
That’s a powerful and popular semantic triumvirate, morgangreenster.

Thanks for the answer and the explanation!
Lovely article David!
My go is – Help, Learn and Laugh!
There you are, my Katha!
So good to hear from you! I hope things are going good for you and your family in India.
I love your three words! Well done!
Thanks for asking David!
Life is never dull – to say the least!
I am so glad to hear from you, Katha!
If your fingers are typing, your mind is engaged, and your lungs are breathing life into you! ๐
You just know it!
I am so relieved, Katha!
