When Doctors Fire Patients

There is a fantastic new move afoot in the medical community where doctors are taking control of the healthcare debate and firing their patients — not because they have the wrong insurance, but rather because they think they know more than their doctors.

These firings aren’t because patients are sharing research information.  These firings are happening because patients refuse to believe a doctor’s medical training is factual:

In a study of Connecticut pediatricians published last year, some 30% of 133 doctors said they had asked a family to leave their practice for vaccine refusal, and a recent survey of 909 Midwestern pediatricians found that 21% reported discharging families for the same reason.

By comparison, in 2001 and 2006 about 6% of physicians said they “routinely” stopped working with families due to parents’ continued vaccine refusal and 16% “sometimes” dismissed them, according to surveys conducted then by the American Academy of Pediatrics. …

For Allan LaReau of Kalamazoo, Mich., and his 11 colleagues at Bronson Rambling Road Pediatrics, who chose in 2010 to stop working with vaccine-refusing families, a major factor was the concern that unimmunized children could pose a danger in the waiting room to infants or sick children who haven’t yet been fully vaccinated.

There is no greater patient hoaxer — and self-confessed “Indigo Child-bearer” — than celebritard Jenny McCarthy who, since at least 2007, has publicly spewed the lie suggesting vaccines might just give children Autism.  She made those public claims without a single whit of scientific proof.

It seems Jenny “just decided” infant vaccinations might just cause Autism and, because she’s famous, many families have followed her down the “non-vaccination” path for their children — thus putting all children unreasonably at risk of exposure from deathly communicable diseases like Polio and Small Pox:

I do believe sadly it’s going to take some diseases coming back to realize that we need to change and develop vaccines that are safe. If the vaccine companies are not listening to us, it’s their f___ing fault that the diseases are coming back. They’re making a product that’s s___. If you give us a safe vaccine, we’ll use it. It shouldn’t be polio versus autism.

In June 2007 Jenny McCarthy began promoting anti-vaccination rhetoric. Because of her celebrity status she has appeared on several television shows and has published multiple books advising parents not to vaccinate their children. This has led to an increase in the number of vaccine preventable illnesses as well as an increase in the number of vaccine preventable deaths.

Jenny McCarthy has a body count attached to her name. This website will publish the total number of vaccine preventable illnesses and vaccine preventable deaths that have happened in the United States since June 2007 when she began publicly speaking out against vaccines.

How have we come to fall so far down the rabbit hole where we believe — and follow! — an ill-informed celebrity instead of the human mandate and long history of practiced modern medicine?  Is this just another example in the ongoing attack on intelligence?  Do we, as a nation, still believe it is wiser to be the self-proclaimed dumbest person in the room instead of the smartest?

We applaud doctors who refuse to put up with unsubstantiated nonsense from their patients.  Let those non-believers treat each other in the street, because no self-respecting doctor should ever have to listen to — or be accountable for — madness masquerading as proof.
