On Monday, I learned a powerful lesson about the news and social media and how what we share with our friends can be ever so slightly shifted to show just what your friends want to show you — although this is only because this is the same side of an issue that they were shown. There was a tragedy in France in the form of a shooting at a school — a Jewish school, to be specific. A teacher, his two children and another student were killed in the attack.

Now let’s take that biomask news to the next, logical level. Specially trained soldiers get their brown eyes burned blue. The biomask gives them a whole new face. Fingerprints are replaced. Previous DNA records are erased.
You now have a whole new identity mask for and old body that now becomes an anonymous killing machine. An old body you trained and made into a killer becomes something new, but never innocuous, that you can send into the world, undercover in a civilian visage, to do your Black Ops work in the open without repercussion. If the soldier gets identified, bring in the biomask to reconstruct a whole new face and recycle the old body again into the wilds.
Now we have breaking news that biocompatible polymers are a bridge — a “scaffold,” really — to attaching regenerating dead human nerves to inanimate prosthetics. The idea of this new bio-bridge is keen to help recreate the body part, but it makes me wonder why the military is always the standard bearer for new human healing inventions. Are they interested in fixing the wounded, or in just creating a super-able-bodied soldier from scratch?

When I was in eighth grade, there was a large poster hanging on one of the walls with the image of Michael Douglas on it and a long speech about greed. I had no idea what it was or why his face was on it but it was an interesting speech, albeit one that went against everything we were taught in school. The speech taught that greed was good and important. We were taught in school that greed was bad and that sharing with others was good and important.
After I reviewed the new Jazz Licks pack in Agile Partners’ excellent “Lick of the Day” app a couple of weeks ago, I decided to see where the domain JazzLicks.com would land me. I was surprised to find it grounded me on a page where that particular domain was offered for sale. The price was $300.00USD and I decided to make an offer on the domain.
Sedo were the escrow agent for the transaction. That meant Sedo played the “Man in the Middle” role who would hold my payment in escrow until the domain was transferred over to me, and then they’d release payment to the seller. I bid $200.00USD for JazzLicks.com on March 7, 2012 — and a few hours later my offer was accepted — and nine days later the domain was mine and fully re-directing right here to BolesBlues.com.

A man slowly ascends the stairs of a tall building. He has an assault rifle strapped to his back and carries a megaphone in one hand. When he gets to the roof he looks down on the hundreds of people walking down the street and calls for their attention. He watches carefully as they gather around in the street below and when just enough people are listening he lifts the assault rifle in one hand and puts the megaphone to his mouth and says, “Ladies and gentlemen… I own an assault rifle illegally!” Within minutes he is arrested and nobody is surprised. Why then would someone do the online equivalent and provide photographic evidence to the world, including the police that eventually arrested said someone?
