Bluesman Gary Moore Dead at 58

We are shocked and saddened to learn today of the death of Great Bluesman Gary Moore — of Thin Lizzy fame — in Spain yesterday.  He was 58.  He cause of his death is as yet unknown.

The other day, I happened upon a fantastic music documentary called — Make It Funky! — and boy, was it a great celebration of the Funk Movement that grew out of the traditional Blues.  The music and the vibe were outstanding.

There’s nothing quite like playing the Blues guitar using your fingers.  It can be another matter entirely when you toss away your pick and play with only your fingers on an electric guitar.  Mark Knopfler is probably the best known, and most successful, “fingerstyle” electric guitarist of our generation.
