A Broken Filling, a Root Canal and a Crown

Yesterday, I spent most of the day in a dental chair staring at a ceiling as a broken filling was drilled away, the roots of my tooth were removed, and a post was inserted in the remnants of what used to be my tooth for a crowning next week.

Jimmy Johnson as Snake Oil Salesman

Yesterday, I was shocked to see a television commercial starring former Dallas Cowboys football coach Jimmy Johnson.  He was pitching a “male enhancement” product that I will not name — I have blurred the product title in this commentary — because I believe Jimmy is pitching a snake oil in sheep’s clothing lie.  Here’s visual proof of the established relationship between Jimmy and his member pimping.

Big, Black, and Curvy

In the majority power race to be rail-thin, Black women have, traditionally, preferred to have a more curvaceous silhouette, with the lower half of their bodies “rounder” than the top — “junk in the trunk” is perhaps the better known nomenclature.

Two Tails Wagging

Yesterday, I bumped into a friend of mine in the neighborhood named Joey.  As part of our infrequent discussions, Joey always reminds me he was born in the Dominican Republic and one day plans to return.  As we caught up on who and what we know, Joey mentioned a common friend of ours from long ago who just had a second daughter.
