Computer Glitch Makes AMEX Serve an EPIC FAIL!

Today is April Fool’s Day, but what I am about to share with you has nothing do to with getting fooled — it is all too real and too corporate to rake any fun.  When American Express recently announced their Serve payment service for exchanging money, I was happy to sign up, just as I had done with Square last November.  I gave AMEX my banking information, a credit card and other personal identifying information.  After confirming two deposits in my bank account, I decided to take the next test step and transfer $10 from my bank account to my Serve account.  Oh, the woe that is me!

Three More Reasons I Hate Comcast

There’s nothing quite like realizing you have to pick up the phone and ask for Comcast sales or service because the phone calls never go smoothly.  There’s always some outrageous bump in the road they’ve set just for you.  Today was not unique.  I called Comcast six times.  I still don’t have a resolution.

Guitar Center Does The Right Thing

For the last few months, I have been browsing dozens of web sites, talking to friends and musicians, all in the pursuit of a guitar I could be happy to play — and possibly take onto a stage with me one day. One of my co-workers is a stage musician who has spent countless hours playing different guitars both on and off stage. He told me that I should go for a Gibson Hummingbird if I wanted a guitar that could be my one and only.  I will review the Hummingbird in a future article, but today, I want to tell you about Guitar Center.
