Last week the sounds of a newborn crying echoed throughout the West New York apartment building until residents called 911 to get help in discovering the source of the muffled cries.

“All men are created equal” is a fundamental principle in our Government’s constitution. This principle recognizes the natural order of the human condition, “all men are created un-equal”. “Equalization” of the human in society is a responsibility of those who govern. (Equalization is the process of balancing. Here it is used in reference to the human in society). It is a goal, an aim, a never-ending road, but an “ideal” we strive for in order to establish fair practice in societies. This begins from the smallest social group, the family, through to nations.

In our discussion the other day about my leg telling the weather, I want to make it clear the brusque, perfect-looking and cruel doctor who made declarations instead of admonitions to help heal my leg is like all the other young MDs I’ve met in New York City.
These young doctors are angry and tired and terrified of going bankrupt in an industry that doesn’t begin to pay their high scale-rents and mountainous student loan debt. Many want to make a killing on the backs of their patients as quickly as possible before the insurance companies cut their payments even more.
I am slowly realizing my current hometown of Jersey City, New Jersey is quickly becoming Murder City, USA. Yesterday, I discovered the going street price of a life in Jersey City is $6.66 as the murdered bodies of a woman and her two children — a boy aged six and a girl aged 13 — were found stabbed to death in a Greenville apartment. They died Monday.
It is appalling how many blogs on the web use animals as the butt end of a joke. While surfing one of the major blog exchanges I saw a video of a live kitten being stuffed into a fruit jar. I have seen dogs dressed up in people clothes. I have seen snakes held captive in boxes far too small for survival.
Yesterday I was out for my daily walk along Palisade Avenue in Jersey City when I heard sounds 50 yards ahead of me I had never experienced before: Tires screeching on asphalt; a thump; crushing metal. Ahead of me people leapt out of their cars and from their porches. A cop on his lunch hour bolted from his parked cruiser with a sandwich still in his hand.
