John Fogerty Just Wrote a Song for Everyone Again

Today is Big Music Day in the new album division of the music world.  We started the morning with a new 51-year-old album from Dave Brubeck and Tony Bennett and we end the day with a new bit of wonder from John Fogerty — Wrote a Song for Everyone — and this new album of reconsidered Fogerty old songs is a big hit.  I am a true fan of John Fogerty and his long and historic musical career.  He’s a songwriting genius, but there comes a time in every career when popularity wanes, the road calls, and new music struggles to free a suffocated voice.

John Mayer and a lot of Hoodoo about Nothing to Undo

I have always believed we must live our lives and make decisions based on insufficient evidence we have in hand and then live with the consequences of those uninformed responses.  I do not believe in regret.  Regret is poison.  Regret is emotional and intellectual suicide that decays the body from within.  Reflecting on a reflexive life is different than regret.  We must reflect in order to know what not to do in the future.

Billy Burnette and the Four-Year iTunes Error

Billy Burnette plays a great rhythm guitar, and he earned most of his fame replacing Lindsey Buckingham in Fleetwood Mac.  Billy was bred into a star musical family, and he also performs solo — but Billy’s greatest gift is to convey beauty in just strumming behind other guitar greats like John Fogerty as part of a backup band.  Rhythm guitar has taken a backseat to lead guitar in the foolish modern American musical mindset — but don’t be mistaken — there is honor and necessity in playing proper rhythm and Billy does it righteously well with his massive Gibson guitar always in hand.  After recently discovering Billy, I was eager to purchase his solo Blues album — Memphis in Manhattan — but when I went to the iTunes store to click buy, my eye was deceived.
