2011 WordPress.com Wants After One Year of Hosting 14 Network Blogs

Here we are, a year later, after making a triumphant Boles Blogs Network return to WordPress.com.  We temporarily left WP.com to unwittingly head into the gaping maw of a horrible experience with a self-hosted Movable Type installation — but we quickly remedied our dismay and rejoined the Automattic servers.

I discovered Bitly.Pro the other day, and I can’t believe I missed the early beta invitation to join the free program that gives you your very own personal link-shortening URL.  I sent in a request to be added to the beta program and in three days I received my welcome letter!

Pronouncing the Year

There’s nothing more annoying than having people mispronounce the year.  It started in 2010 when people actually said out loud, “Two Thousand and Ten” to identify the year.  It’s even worse this year when people say, “Two Thousand and Eleven.”  Here is the correct way to pronounce those years:  “Twenty Ten” and “Twenty Eleven.”  This “proper year pronunciation” is such a big problem that fellow WordPress.com-er Gus Pearcy created a blog — SAY Twenty Eleven — just to set people right; and I have borrowed one of Gus’ images to help spread the appropriate learning meme:

The New Go Inside Magazine!

Welcome to the new look of Go Inside Magazine!  Go Inside Magazine officially started with the GoInside.com domain in 1996, but we have been publishing on the internet since 1990 as “Internet Insider” and under other transitory and transitional names.  For all those years, we were a static HTML magazine and then, yesterday, January 27, 2011, we made the big change to dynamic publishing — and Go Inside is now hosted on WordPress.com as the newest member of the now 14-blog strong Boles Blogs Network!
