Here are the Top 10 Bands of All Time. Longevity is not important.
White-hot influence on social thinking is important:
1. The Beatles
2. Boston
3. The Rolling Stones
4. Fleetwood Mac
5. Peter, Paul and Mary
6. The Jackson Five
7. U2
8. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
9. The Carpenters
10. The Ramones
I wonder if U2’s Bono will go down as the most influential singer of all time? It seems he has the ear of many political leaders on the issue of foreign debt relief.
Hi Chris!
Yes, I think Bono WILL go down in history as the most influential singer of all time. His activism and his caring for all people and not just a narrow band of those in power will set the stage as an example of how public people can perform public service no matter what their station in life expects.
Good list! I think Boston is a brave choice for how long they are not together.
Hey Joan!
Boston had so many white-hot hits in such a short amount of time I don’t know if their timeframe for success has ever been equaled. They were smart to not try to reinvent the wheel of their fire.
David W. Boles
