My Successful Stellar Upgrade to OS X Lion

I started out my online life as a Windows fanatic.  Then, a few years ago, I became a Mac Fanboi.  I have given over my entire technological life to SuperGenius SuperStar Steve Jobs — not Apple, Steve Jobs — and he controls my iPad and iPhone and AirPort and MacBook, and my daily happiness by default, and I just sit idly by and enjoy the fruit of his labor.  I do worry about his demise, though, because I think Apple is Steve Jobs, not the other way around.  Yesterday, I dutifully took the $30.00USD plunge and upgraded my 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook to OS X Lion, and the process was clean, transparent and simple.  I love my Mac!

Google Voice Now Provides Spam Protection

There’s nothing more scandalous than getting a brand new phone number that formerly belonged to a deadbeat who did not pay her debts.  That’s what happened to Janna when we bought her a new 212 Area Code phone number and hooked it into her Google Voice account.

What Does it Mean if You are Beaten in the Presidential Polls in Your Home State?

Nearly a month ago, publisher David Boles wrote an insightful article about the forthcoming 2012 elections that put a tremendous fear in me — the fear that Sarah Palin could win the Presidential election. It is something that people have been discussing in increasingly greater detail over the last three years, pretty much since it was announced that Ms. Palin was going to be John McCain’s running mate in 2008.

Do Celebrity Endorsements Sell More Product?

We are well aware of the excellent help that celebrities provide when the need is there — whether the help is for PR purposes or not, or whether other celebrities actively try to discourage you from helping, the help is there and can make the difference between a charity receiving hundreds of dollars versus hundreds of thousands of dollars — even if most of the money ends up coming directly from the celebrities themselves!

The Sperminator Love Child

News of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Love Child” is terminating his reputation faster than a California budget earthquake.  In a single revelation, Arnold destroyed his wife, his children, his fans, his housekeeper mistress and his hidden child.

Why Bad Movie Sequels Are Made

At least twice a year my wife Elizabeth asks me some variation of the following question — why do bad sequels to movies get made? I have the rather unfortunate task of letting her know the same sad answer to this question which is this — the money they spend making and promoting the sequel is dwarfed by the money that is made at the box office and so they continue making the bad sequels until the money made is not sufficient to justify making any other bad sequels.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Name their Moron Twins

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon announced the names of their twins the other day, and the tasteless names perfectly match the obnoxiousness of their parents.  Wouldn’t you be a proud child to know your naked father manhandled your mother’s bare breasts in the pages of a public newspaper while you were still in utero?

Passing on Royal Fever

If you are a Real American — how can you get caught up the royal fever over the pending marriage of William and Kate?  Didn’t we race from the crown and found our own country with war because we didn’t want to have anything to do with inherited leadership — other than, of course, repeatedly electing our very own American Royals to ongoing public office: The Kennedys and the Bushes.

Lady Gaga as Polymathic Artist

We know too well that Lady Gaga is sometimes not well liked — Camille Paglia scolded her nattering vagina, for example. In some cases, people just are outright mean to her — calling in to question whether or not she has the genitalia of a man or a woman, as though that has any influence on the quality or beauty of the artwork she creates.
