Benicar HCT to the Rescue

I have been able to self-manage my high blood pressure for 20 years.  I have controlled it through exercise, diet, meditation and a determined mind to force my body to properly behave — but now the haunting words of my initial diagnosis two decades ago, “You’re blood pressure is a little high,” is coming back to bite me.  “There’s no shame in having high blood pressure,” my doctor said at the time, “It’s just how you’re piped.” I disagreed with him, and vowed to cure myself, and I set about on my Vegan voyage that has paid off as well as I could expect up until now.

Is DRACO a Cure For Any Viral Infection?

“DRACO” is destined to be the next “Big Thing” in medicine.  Here’s the technical explanation of the cure and, after the jump, I’ll give you the more ordinary angle on the human power of DRACO in our lives:

Currently there are relatively few antiviral therapeutics, and most which do exist are highly pathogen-specific or have other disadvantages. We have developed a new broad-spectrum antiviral approach, dubbed Double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) Activated Caspase Oligomerizer (DRACO) that selectively induces apoptosis in cells containing viral dsRNA, rapidly killing infected cells without harming uninfected cells. We have created DRACOs and shown that they are nontoxic in 11 mammalian cell types and effective against 15 different viruses, including dengue flavivirus, Amapari and Tacaribe arenaviruses, Guama bunyavirus, and H1N1 influenza. We have also demonstrated that DRACOs can rescue mice challenged with H1N1 influenza. DRACOs have the potential to be effective therapeutics or prophylactics for numerous clinical and priority viruses, due to the broad-spectrum sensitivity of the dsRNA detection domain, the potent activity of the apoptosis induction domain, and the novel direct linkage between the two which viruses have never encountered.

Here’s an explanation of what you’re seeing in the image below:

The microscope images show that DRACO successfully treats viral infections. In the left set of four photos, rhinovirus (the common cold virus) kills untreated human cells (lower left), whereas DRACO has no toxicity in uninfected cells (upper right) and cures an infected cell population (lower right). Similarly, in the right set of four photos, dengue hemorrhagic fever virus kills untreated monkey cells (lower left), whereas DRACO has no toxicity in uninfected cells (upper right) and cures an infected cell population (lower right).

The Terrorists Among Us

We live in dangerous times.  We may believe terrorists live afar — and that we’re valiantly battling them in the Middle East with our military — but what are we doing about our homegrown terrorists who seek to punish with their hate in the deaths of others?  Are we killing our homegrown terrorists with lead and bombs?  Or do we somehow see these killers among us as some sort of misbegotten patriot?

Bagging the Tea Party

I have been stumped why the miscreants in the Tea Bag Party haven’t been shunned and shown the curb by now when it comes to governing our nation.  Instead of summarily dismissing them for their insane, anti-American wishes, the President kowtows to them and coddles them and attempts to pacify them.  The Republicans are terrified of their own radicals and refuse to control them.  What now?  Unrestrained hatred will flow downhill into every creek and river to poison the land and foul the watershed until we’re all dead or dying.

Why is Eating Healthy so Expensive?

Why is it so expensive to eat a healthy diet anywhere you go?  Sure, you can find some deals on healthy food in some niche places, or you can take time to cook bulk purchases at home and tote the remains around with you, but for fast, healthy, food, on the road, you’re going to pay a heavy price for that healthy eating.  We live in the days of the one dollar McDonald’s hamburger and the miniscule, $7, “tomato and avocado” sandwich at Pax.
