Living With Abby, Our Strange and Wonderful Cat

Picture the following scenario — I am up at three in the morning because I feel like I need to get a drink of water, the sensation of dehydration all over me. I get up out of bed and find my way to the door, and am about halfway to the kitchen when I just about trip over a bowl of cat kibble. This is not the first time this has happened, and I doubt that it will be the last. The cat is trying to send us a message and we must hear her loudly and clearly — “I WANT MORE FOOD!” When our cat Abby feels that there is not enough food in her bowl, she will drag it out into the middle of the room. It doesn’t matter that there may be what looks like plenty of food in the bowl — it is her judgment call, not ours, that ultimately matters.

Is Whey Protein Dangerous?

A health-nut friend of mine told me the other day to stay away from Whey Protein at all costs.  He said there is a Federal law against the disposal of whey protein in landfills, waterways and sewer systems.  The only way you can legally dispose of whey protein, he told me, was to use it as an additive in our food supply.

The Blender Bottle Review

When you are trying to maintain a regular workout schedule, you never know where your workouts will take you. It’s nice to think that you will always have access to a fully stocked kitchen, complete with a powerful blender to get all of your post-workout shakes. I have had a long history of struggling with protein powders, many of which have promises of being able to mix instantly with milk or juice.

Three More Reasons I Hate Comcast

There’s nothing quite like realizing you have to pick up the phone and ask for Comcast sales or service because the phone calls never go smoothly.  There’s always some outrageous bump in the road they’ve set just for you.  Today was not unique.  I called Comcast six times.  I still don’t have a resolution.
