Advice for 2020 Democrats

Today, let’s offer some friendly advice to the Democrat nominee nation based on the results of the first debate, and inspired by things to watch for in the upcoming second debate. First, I was born in the middle of the country surrounded by waves of Republicans. I currently work on the East Coast and on the West Coast — and a lot of Democrats pay me a lot of money. I have experience flipping on both sides of this national dime, and the Democrat Party has a long way to go to defeat an anachronistic, charismatic, President who feasts on the gruel of the worst in humanity.

Year of the Tongue: Winding 2013 Back in the Mouth

2013 is finally winding down and, I hope, away from our convenient memories forever.  When I think of unlucky 2013 — as I write this article on a blackened Friday, December 13, 2013 — I can’t get images of Miley Cyrus off my mind as I try to reflect on the year that was.

It felt like Miley ruled us all year long with that obnoxious coated tongue — you couldn’t turn around without getting licked! — and I think we’d all prefer to see her wind the white back into her mouth.

Our politics didn’t fare much better than Ms. Cyrus.  The obstructionist Republicans in congress were happily biased against our first Black President — and so we all had to watch the GOP try to bring down the man because of his skin color and not his deeds.

In many ways, Barack Obama is what a true Republican used to be — and watching radical liberals forced into supporting his policies because they loathe the Racist attacks on his character — is something the history books will reek of when cracked opened in a century.

Our Sidewalk Sale Economy

As I am writing this article, news that the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act is ringing like freedom throughout the United States.  It is a great day to be an American, and an even greater day to be an American if you happen to fall ill.  “Obamacare” is now a law of the land milestone and is no longer a political insult.

Fresh from my Inbox:

The Affordable Care Act has already made a significant difference in the lives of millions of Americans, including those living with disabilities. Today’s ruling is an affirmation that all Americans, and especially those living with disabilities, should have access to the care that they need. This decision means that individuals cannot be discriminated against because of a pre-existing condition— and for the disability community, affirms the definition of equality as set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act,” said Stephen Bennett, United Cerebral Palsy President & CEO. “Today’s decision is a clear victory for Americans living with disabilities. UCP strongly supports the Affordable Care Act and will keep working to ensure its implementation eliminates disparities and guarantees equality for all Americans.

Solve Illegal Immigration With a Poor Economy

We live in a world in which Michele Bachmann has no issues with taking money in government subsidies for a family farm and can still say with a straight face that unemployment benefits are something that the United States government simply cannot afford to pay.

Defunding The Clean Air Act Does Not Create Jobs

The more time goes on since the elections of November 2010, the more I feel convinced that there really is no serious agenda by the GOP to create jobs. I wrote about how the GOP made moves to destroy such fundamentally important programs as Americorps and the like, and how that naturally not only did not help create jobs but rather destroyed jobs that are actually out there along with potential jobs that those programs would create in the future.

Do Republicans Want to Create Jobs or Destroy Workers?

In the months leading up to the elections last November, many Republicans ran on Tea Party based platforms, their campaigns centering on the theme that they, unlike their Democrat opponents, were seeking to create jobs — something that would surely be good for the people electing them. The nation went pretty wild for this campaigning as many Republicans were swept into office. One would have to assume that since they campaigned on the promise of creating jobs, their first plans upon entry into office would have something to do with creating jobs.

Does "Reviewed by Apple" Mean iBook Censorship on the iPad?

Okay, so there’s this little thing called the iPad that’s dropping tomorrow and, as the owner of Boles Books Writing and Publishing, I would like to — as an independent publisher — get in on the iBooks action by selling some titles on the iPad.
