Why I am Not Buying an iPhone 3G S

I have been a big iPhone lover in the past; but I’m unexcited about the iPhone 3G S and I refuse to incarcerate myself in anticipation, longing and waiting for iPhone wish fulfillment ever again.  The White Apple of Death still leaves a hauntingly bitter taste in my mouth a year later.

The Loss of the Immigrant Mind

The USA is losing its immigrant mind!  The landed have traditionally helped build America into what it is today:  A great mosaic of thoughts, colors and dreams.  Today, because of punishing politics and a shrinking world, Harvard University reports immigrants are returning to their homeland instead of building a better life in the USA.  An entire generation of immigrants is giving up on their American Dream and I’m not sure if we can blame them for the departure.

Surveillance is Good for You

Jamie Grace wrote this article.

The Return of the David Boles Gang!

The Wayback Machine can bring both pleasure and pain as you reflect back on who you used to be and where you hoped to land in your virtual internet dreams.

One of the hard lessons learned of an early life on the internet is that domain names have great value beyond the ordinary now.

Over a decade ago I had a domain name — http://dbgang.com — for my original life on the internet that hooked into “The David Boles Gang!” web presence and, for some reason I still do not understand, I decided to let that URL lapse into non-renewal.

Someone else immediately gobbled up that domain and I was instantly filled with regret and longing for my dbgang.com world.  I wanted to get that URL back!

Laptops in the Classroom

Many universities are giving up on their idea of “One Laptop Per Student” theory in the classroom because computers interfere with learning.

Traditional Universities also want to remove WiFi and other communication connections from being available during teaching sessions because students are surfing the web and creating email instead of being involved in class.
