Ellen Degeneres: When Infamy Sucks Up to Corruption

Ellen DeGeneres made history this week by buddying up to George W. Bush at a Dallas Cowboys football game. Instead of being reflective, and condemning her ill-thought action after some internal reflection and contemplation, DeGeneres instead, like Trump, doubled down, and tried to spin her betrayal of the human spirit by arguing she was just being “kind” to those who don’t think as she believes. All of that would have been just fine if the person you were being kind to was a real person deserving your love and respect — and who also didn’t happen to be accused of war crimes against humanity — but the real insult in the moment was in DeGeneres’ apt refusal to just admit she was using her money, and her fame, to sidle up next to a faded presidential power. This was all about corruption of the spirit in exchange for a moment in the skybox with a decider, and it had nothing whatsoever to do with kindness.

Why Hillary Clinton Has Cooked Herself 30,000 Times Over

The Hillary Clinton email scandal is not over. Not by a bit! In reality, it has yet to commence! Yes, the 2016 presidential election is shambolic! Trump is inviting Russia to “look for” Hillary’s deleted 30,000 emails, and Hillary is claiming her emails were personal, and not work related in her role as Secretary of State.

Do Not Buy Cocaine On Duty

We trust the members of civil service to do everything in their power to help and protect us. The firefighters of our communities risk life and limb to put out the most lethal fires. The emergency medical technicians save countless lives, even if at the risk of their own. Of course, the police stop some of the most heinous crimes and put the most vicious murderers and criminals away in jail. We are too familiar with what happens when the police give up on crimes. The problem occurs when the police officer that is put there to protect us ends up being the criminal that needs to be put away.

Meat-Adaptive Gene Outlives the Apes

We are known for our monkey love and for our Lucy love; but yesterday the University of Southern California Davis School of Gerontology revealed the reason we are able to outlive our ape relatives:  We have a meat-adaptive gene and they do not.

Google Apps Calendar Corruption

There’s nothing more disappointing than the realization that a soft promise is not a hard fact and that eagerness does not equal integrity.  Such is the case of the ever-widening hardship that Google Apps are not ready for prime time success because there are too many innate technical blunders that instantly hamstring any promise of safe data in the cloud.  For the past three days I’ve been having horrible Google Apps Calendar misfires — yet checking the official Google Apps Status Dashboard this morning reveals no trouble with the Calendar — even though it isn’t working.

How Slide and SuperPoke Pets Stole 3,000 Fake Money Coins

UPDATE April 23, 2009:  After getting the inappropriate comment on this article from Slide this morning, my wife and I have decided to quit the game.  It’s over.  Any links to our SuperPoke Pets sites are no longer active and should be considered dead.  Why should we pay for that sort of attitude from a company?  We’re voting with our wallets and the answer is “No thank you.”

I enjoy playing Slide.com’s SuperPoke Pets and I’ve raved about SuperPoke Pets and ranted about SuperPoke Pets. Today, I am enraged — not by the game I have come to love — but rather by the lack of an artful and loving Slide.com technical response to what should have been a simple problem to solve.  This is the story of a false accusation — an unfair incarceration of character if you will — and its ultimate unraveling in the light of indisputable, human, facts.
