Your Three-Year-Old Already Knows the Brand Name

Watch a three-year-old in a grocery store. Watch her eyes when you turn into the cereal aisle. Her gaze is not scanning the shelves the way you scan them, evaluating prices and nutritional labels and unit costs. A search is underway. The child already knows what she wants, and she knows it by name, and she knows the name because a screen taught it to her before she could read the word printed on the box. The box appears in her sightline. A finger goes up. The name comes out of her mouth. You have just witnessed the end product of a commercial pedagogy that has been operating in American media for more than fifty years, and the child has no idea it happened to her.

Gemini Invents a New Language

As a Boles.ai experiment, I asked three AI BotsClaude.ai and Gemini and ChatGPT — to create a language and then I asked them if the language was actually created by them or not. Because of the length of the responses, I created three separate articles demonstrating the language invention capabilities of each Bot. You can decide which language Bot was most effective and inventive. I used the same prompts for all three attempts.

When They Go Low, We Go Lower!

The Obamas are kind and smart people, but as politicians, their presidency was unfortunate and unsustainable in the residue of an enduring legacy that lived beyond them in true democratic electoral rule — they were bad at getting Democrats elected. People loved President Obama, but that popularity did not transfer to overwhelming legislative successes that matched his election mandate. In fact, Obama spent too much time trying to make peace with Republicans when all they wanted to do was remove him from office. Obama wasted the first two years of the majority he won in the House and Senate and then never recovered after his first midterm election disaster that poisoned the last six years of his presidency.

At the 2016 Democrat convention, Michelle Obama played the morality card against the GOP, by proclaiming, “When they go low, we go high” and that ridiculous phrase never had any power beyond the wish and the fairytale — going high was only the pabulum of early virtue signalling — lacking any substance that did anything to help anyone. Just ask Hillary Clinton how going high worked out for her as president.

What the Obamas, and the Democrats, generally fail to realize is their opponent, the Republicans, are smarter, better organized, craftier, more cruel — the GOP own the courts and they have better lawyers, just ask Al Gore about his presidency — and if Joe Biden hopes to win in 2020, he needs to go LOWER than Donald Trump, not higher, to meet the ferocity of the viciousness that is about to become Mr. Biden over the next two months; and I fear he, and the Democrat leaders, think they’re going to win just because of voting and goodwill, while the election is really going to be won in the streets, bloodlines, the courts, and in a multitude of lawsuits.

Twitter Really Wants to Be Your TV

Twitter wants to be your TV.  Sure, we know Twitter doesn’t broadcast events — yet — and so on its way into warming up the internet boob tubes, Twitter is partnering with current television shows to bombard you with on screen commentary from Twitter users.  I find the whole process messy, embarrassing and annoying.

The Forsaken God and the Dotted Dead

I previously wrote about the — Ground Zero Mosque — and the fact that the mosque in question is, and has been, an active worship center and that it stands three blocks away from where the Twin Towers fell.  The mosque is located in the old Burlington Coat Factory building, and the fact that it is still called “The Ground Zero Mosque,” instead of “The Old Burlington Coat Factory Building Mosque,” is wretched testimony to the disgusting incivility of the conservative media warmongers who prefer to kill their enemies from afar and directly berate those here at home who do not agree with their punishing politics while they celebrate religious bigots like Terry Jones who prefer to burn the Koran instead of saying a prayer.
