This Blog is Back, Baby!

David W. Boles’ Urban Semiotic is back!
I changed DNS and servers for this blog a mere six hours ago and I am now back live saying, “Hi!”

I will have a full report for you soon on the server move and the reasons for it and to celebrate the kind help I received in transit!
Oh, and comments are turned back on so have a heyday with me!

Ten Thousand and Counting

It’s amazing that, via BlogExplosion alone, this Urban Semiotic blog has reached over 10,000 unique visitors since June 1, 2005 and it wouldn’t have happened without many of you!
Urban Semiotic also participates on other blog exchanges like Blog Clicker and Blog Advance and Blog Soldiers but the king of pushing traffic here, by a power of at least 10, is BlogExplosion, as you can see here from my member’s panel:

I had no idea how many visitors I would have after a month. I hoped for 1,000 and, as you can see in the image of my account below, my hope was more than doubled with 2,084 visitors and those numbers reflect only Blog Explosion visitors.

Mr. Grumpy Goes Blogging

Forgive me for being Mr. Grumpy today.
Here’s a short — okay, it’s longish — list of things that make me grumpy when I read blogs of others and I realize 99% of what I say will insult 95% of the blogs I’ve read so far:

Blogging as a Moral Rasp

The tagline for this blog used to be just Rendering Meaning in the City Core and this week I changed it to read… Where Blood & Bone Render Meaning in the City Core …and some have asked why I made that change. I came to realize this week that a successful blog, if it is to have meaning beyond the self, must in some way speak personally to you, the reader, in a genuine manner.
