Palin the Pig: 091101 NYC and the Child Martyr

It’s that time of year again when New York City once again feels sorry for itself and the parade of 9/11 martyrs make their mandatory appearance in the pit of what used to be the World Trade Center.  This morning, we witnessed the young children of the dead — they “do not remember their father” — but are nonetheless forced to pretend to recall him on television, in speeches they did not write, to help perpetuate the offensive and utterly meaningless “Why Us?” chest thumping that has replaced healing and rediscovery of a forward-propelling hope in America.

I Had a Down Syndrome Baby, and So Will You!

When scheming politicians like Sarah Palin use the private lives of their children to sharpen their public policy points — the moderate middle recoils in horror as we begin to realize what she decides for herself is precisely what she wants for the rest of us.  Using her Down Syndrome child as the tip of her policy spear, Palin calls abortion an “atrocity,” and she refuses to consider rape or incest in any decision to abort a foetus.   Palin wants all pregnancies to end in live births.   What the Sarah Palin mandate means for the rest of us is clear and simple and frightening:  I had a Down Syndrome baby, and so will you!”

Dan Quayle with a Ponytail or Hitler in High Heels?

With Sarah Palin now on the Republican ticket — she is being mocked for her duplicity and for her rather fascist want to create one set of rules for the rest of us and another set of rules by which only she and her family are allowed to abide.  Some on the internets are satirically calling her “Hitler in High Heels” and “Dan Quayle with a Ponytail” and I find that comedic flaying fascinating on many levels as the parody image below suggests…

Reading, watching, and listening to the mainstream media lapdogs this morning, I guess I am the only person in America who thought Sarah Palin’s speech last night at the Republican National Convention was a complete and total failure.  She destroyed her now and infected our future.
