I am My Own Whore

This post was originally titled, The Why I Do Not Comment On Other Blogs Manifesto, but it seemed a little precious and pretentious — and I try to save all my pretension and preciousness for the content of my posts and not waste them on the title — so I chose to call this post I am My Own Whore because it has a puckish ring of the ugly truth.

On Writing Kate: The Novel

From a porch in North Brunswick, New Jersey to an apartment in the Admiral District of West Seattle, the writing of the novel Kate has taken well over four years. I wish I could say that I spent that much time writing, but I would be lying if I did. Much of the writing has been done in bursts of time, and I think I have been stalling putting out the last chapter for a little too long. Perhaps a look back at the beginning will stimulate the process along.

Building Blog Explosion Traffic

I joined the blog promotion portal Blog Explosion one month ago today. Blog Explosion is a place where you can promote your blog, meet new people, and get some good tips on how to improve your blog.
I had no idea how many visitors I would have after a month. I hoped for 1,000 and, as you can see in the image of my account below, my hope was more than doubled with 2,084 visitors and those numbers reflect only Blog Explosion visitors.
